51,005 fans watched an exciting game at Dodger Stadium. The Los Angeles(NL)
Dodgers topped the San Diego Padres by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

Los Angeles(NL) came up with all the runs they needed in the 2nd inning
scoring 3 runs utilizing 4 base hits. After an out was recorded, Mike
Cameron got things rolling when he blasted a solo shot (his 1st of the
season). Ronnie Belliard stepped up next and he ripped a base-knock. Jose
Molina then doubled. Chone Figgins was up next and he slapped a one-base
hit. Todd Helton stepped into the box and would hit into a force play. The
early run support proved sufficient for Bronson Arroyo(1-0) and Los
Angeles(NL). That was all the run support Arroyo required. Arroyo got help
from Jose Arredondo who pitched great and earned his 2nd save.

Joe Blanton(0-1) took the loss. He allowed 3 runs and 8 hits in 7 and 2/3
innings.
