Kevin Slowey had a strong outing and Garret Anderson had 2 base hits as the
San Diego Padres topped the Atlanta Braves by a score of 3 to 1 at Turner
Field.

The game started off with San Diego taking the lead in the first when they
scored 2 runs on 2 hits. That was all Slowey(1-1) needed. The pitchers took
over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again.

Chad Qualls got the save, his 1st. Jason Marquis(6-10) was the loser. He
pitched 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 walks.
