Kevin Correia had a strong outing at Petco Park where the San Diego Padres
beat the Chicago (AL) White Sox 1 to 0.

Scot Shields(3-1) was brilliant in relief and registered the victory. He did
not allow a hit or a walk in his 2/3 of an inning. Chicago (AL) threatened
in the 9th but San Diego was able to put down the rally.

Dustin Hermanson recorded his 12th save. Brett Tomko(0-1) suffered the loss.
He allowed 1 run and 5 hits in 7 and 2/3 innings. 'Ahhh, how sweet it is,'
Tim Stoops sighed. 'That win feels like a tall, cool drink of water after
spending far too much time in the desert lately.'
