Yusmeiro Petit hurled a 3 hitter at Petco Park as the San Diego Padres beat
the Arizona Diamondbacks by the count of 6 to 2.

San Diego brought 4 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 4th inning with
the help of 4 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Garret Anderson
who made the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he slapped a single which was
good for two runs. After the 4th inning, neither team was able to score.

Petit(1-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. Chien-Ming
Wang(0-1) ended up with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 10 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.
