It was a laugher out at Petco Park. The Arizona Diamondbacks squad ripped San
Diego pitching for a total of 11 runs. Nick Blackburn(1-0), with relief help
from John Grabow, surrendered 3 runs to San Diego.

Arizona jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring one runner
using 2 hits. After two were out Xavier Nady doubled. Jim Thome stepped
into the batter's box and he doubled. Arizona out-hit San Diego for the
game, 14 hits to 8.

Grabow gained credit for his 1st save. The loss was charged to Brandon
Backe(0-1). Arizona scored big getting 8 runs off him in 7 innings.
