Orlando Hudson homered and had 2 RBI as the San Diego Padres defeated the New
York (NL) Mets by a score of 3 to 2 at Petco Park.

San Diego started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first scoring a single run. San Diego had 12 hits for the afternoon
while New York (NL) had 5.

Shawn Estes(3-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Chad Qualls earned his 6th save. Matt Garza(0-1) ended up
with the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 12 hits in 8 innings.

The winning ways continue for San Diego. They now have a record of 8-2 in
recent days. With this loss, New York (NL) has a 2-3 record of late, 2-3
overall.
