Raul Ibanez had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the San Diego Padres defeated the
Philadelphia Phillies 8 to 2 at Petco Park.
It was a good day for San Diego thanks to Ibanez. He laced a one-base hit in
the 1st inning, delivered a base-hit plating a run in the 2nd inning,
delivered a solo blast (his 3rd of the season) in the 4th inning and lashed a
single in the 6th inning. San Diego out-hit Philadelphia for the game, 14
hits to 9.
The victory was credited to Kevin Slowey(3-0) who went 6 innings, allowing 2
runs. Josh Banks(0-1) absorbed the loss. He was unable to control the San
Diego offense and allowed 11 hits and 5 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
