The Atlanta Braves edged the San Diego Padres at Petco Park by the score of 5
to 4.
Brandon Webb(1-0) gave a fine effort for Atlanta. He allowed 7 hits and 3
walks in 8 innings. San Diego threatened in the 9th but Atlanta was able to
put down the rally.
Webb was helped out by Ryan Madson who recorded his 1st save. Kevin
Slowey(3-1) was the losing pitcher. He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 2
walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.
