In another close game the Padres edged the Yanks 7-6. All the runs were scored in the
first 4 innings and the relievers took over early. Adrian Beltre hit a grand slam
in the 1st inning, and the benches cleared when he was hit by a pitch from Breslow
and injured in the 6th inning.

Hudson, Fontenot and Ethier also homered in the game. The team of Breslow, Sanchez,
and Qualls held the Yanks scoreless for 4 innings. Backe got the win and Qualls
earned a save.
