Shawn Estes blanked San Francisco in a very well-pitched complete game and
Mark Teixeira slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI at Petco Park where the San
Diego Padres beat the San Francisco Giants 9 to 0.

Teixeira had a good evening at the plate. He lashed a single resulting in a
run in the 3rd inning, slapped a base-hit in the 6th inning and delivered a
solo blast (his 8th of the season) in the 8th inning. San Diego managed 9
hits in their victory.

Estes(4-2) was credited with the shutout. Erik Bedard(0-1) suffered the loss.
He was touched for 6 hits and 5 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
