Center fielder Adam Jones slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the San Diego
Padres defeated the Houston Astros 8 to 2 at Petco Park.
 
Jones provided much of the offense.  He cracked a solo homerun in the 2nd
inning, stroked a one-base hit in the 6th inning and cracked a two-run shot
(his 3rd of the season) in the 8th inning.  San Diego had 13 hits for the
night while Houston had 7.  
 
Yusmeiro Petit(3-1) went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Josh
Johnson(0-1) was the loser.  He was unable to control the San Diego offense
and allowed 12 hits and 3 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
