Edgar Renteria touched them all and had 3 RBI at Petco Park where the San
Diego Padres beat the St. Louis Cardinals by the score of 5 to 3.
In the bottom of the 7th inning San Diego scored 3 runs. After two were out
Humberto Quintero got things going when he doubled. Will Venable next to the
plate and he drew a walk. Renteria then clubbed a three-run home run (his
4th of the season). Jacoby Ellsbury was the next batter, but he struck out.
Chad Qualls was perfect in relief and gained credit for his 12th save.
Craig Breslow(2-0) allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. The loss was charged to Jo-Jo Reyes(0-1). He surrendered 6 hits and
2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
