Chris Snyder blasted a homerun and Seth McClung held San Diego to 3 hits as
the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the San Diego Padres by the score of 2 to 1
at Petco Park.

St. Louis jumped on top to stay in the top of the 2nd inning plating an
isolated run. After an out was recorded, Snyder ripped a solo home run (his
1st of the season). One out later, Michael Bourn came up and he drew a walk.
San Diego threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

The win went to McClung(1-0) who allowed 1 run in the game. Carlos
Zambrano(4-4) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings giving up
5 hits and 2 walks.

'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Tim Stoops
said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have
to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
