Joe Blanton(8-6), with relief help from Doug Waechter, shut-down Arizona while
the San Diego Padres scored 5 runs in a day game at Petco Park.
San Diego jumped on top of Arizona in the bottom of the 5th inning as they
scored 2 runs on 3 base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Jacoby
Ellsbury who made the crowd come alive when he lined a base-hit plating two
runs. Despite losing, Arizona out-hit San Diego 13 to 10.
Dallas Braden(0-2) was charged with the loss. He gave up 2 runs and 5 hits in
5 and 2/3 innings.
