Edgar Renteria slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI at AT&T Park as the San Diego
Padres beat the San Francisco Giants by the count of 9 to 2.
San Diego scored 5 runs in the top of the 4th inning with the help of 5 hits.
The big moment was provided by Renteria who helped quiet the crowd when he
bombed a two-run dinger (his 1st of the season). Overall San Diego out-hit
San Francisco 11 to 8.
The win was credited to Brandon Backe(1-0) who went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing
2 runs. Zach Jackson(0-1) was charged with the loss. He was unable to
control the San Diego offense and allowed 9 hits and 3 walks in 3 and 1/3
