Yusmeiro Petit held Washington to 3 hits and Raul Ibanez had 2 base hits and 2
RBI as the red-hot San Diego Padres defeated the Washington Nationals by the
score of 7 to 3 at Petco Park.
Petit(2-0) was in control of the game from the outset. He didn't allow much,
just 3 hits and no walks in 9 innings and surrendered 3 'long-bombs'. San
Diego banged out 11 hits on the night.
Manny Parra(0-1) was the losing pitcher. San Diego extended their winning
streak to 7 games. Tim Stoops was happy with his team's performance of late -
'They're playing solid ball right now' he said. 'Let's hope they can stay
focused.'
