Right fielder Paul Konerko cracked 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the San Diego
Padres outscored the San Francisco Giants 7 to 1.
 
Konerko provided much of the offense.  He blasted a two-run home run in the
2nd inning, doubled plating all three baserunners in the 3rd inning and
blasted a solo shot (his 3rd of the season) in the 8th inning.  Both teams
finished the game with 9 hits.  
 
Shawn Estes(7-3) got the win allowing 1 run in 6 and 2/3 innings. The losing
pitcher was Erik Bedard(0-2).  He allowed 5 hits and 3 walks in 2 and 2/3
innings.  
 
'It's almost like the ball was trying to hit my bat,' Konerko said. 'Whenever
I would swing, the ball found the sweet spot.'
