In a two run game the Arizona Diamondbacks got by the San Diego Padres by the
score of 7 to 5.

Arizona scored 4 runs in the 6th inning when they had 6 base hits. The big
moment was provided by Jim Thome who excited the crowd when he bombed a
two-run dinger (his 30th of the season). Arizona out-hit San Diego for the
game, 13 hits to 9.

The victory was credited to Nick Blackburn(14-11) who went 6 innings, allowing
5 runs. Jonathan Broxton was credited with his 17th save. Joe Blanton(3-1)
was tagged with the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 6 runs in
5 and 1/3 innings.
